We would like to invite you to a meeting on Friday, March 10 , to introduce you to our new Parent Action Committee. There will be two meetings to ensure more people will be able to attend: one at 8:30 a.m. and another at 3:45 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the Media Center.
The rise in charter schools and voucher programs, along with funding cuts to public education, have affected our school greatly. We would like to be proactive and tackle these challenges head on in the coming years. We have created the Parent Action Committee to allow parents an opportunity to get more involved with the promotion of our school within the community, and the development of exciting new programs that will help us become more competitive with all of the school choices that are popping up around us.
At the Parent Action Committee Meeting, we will be discussing:
- What as a school can we improve upon- what are we missing (as in programs or opportunities for our children)?, what could we be doing better?
- What can we be doing right now to promote our school within our communities?
- Introduction to new initiatives starting next year and how parental involvement will be essential to their success
This is an opportunity to have an open discussion about the challenges we are facing and how we can support our school, teachers, and above all, our students. Please consider coming to one of these meetings. We would love to hear your feedback and ideas of how we can partner with you to make Croft Community School an even more amazing environment for our children to learn and grow.
